FREETHEBEES - Commitment to the honey bee and sustainable beekeeping

FREETHEBEES stands for sustainability, meaningfulness and public benefit. They are the only Swiss organisation dedicated to the protection and promotion of wild honey bee colonies. FREETHEBEES actively campaigns against bee mortality and accompanies beekeepers on their way to responsible, species-appropriate and sustainable beekeeping.honey bees are almost completely extinct in the wild, but in beekeeping they are kept in unprecedented numbers and density. Many people do not realise that the native original breed has been displaced and replaced by imported breeds! Routine acid treatment, factory farming, sugar feeding, swarm prevention and artificial reproduction make it difficult for bees to adapt to their natural environment. This is where FREETHEBEES comes in: they protect honey bees in the wild and promote their adaptability.

To support bees, measures such as creating natural habitats, increasing the diversity of flowers and reducing environmental toxins are necessary. These measures also help bees to survive better in co-operation with beekeepers. You too can support our industrious workhorses!

SwissTrees - commitment to our Swiss forest

SwissTrees connects forest owners and donors and ensures a healthy, growing and climate-resistant Swiss forest. Their aim is to decisively strengthen trees, shrubs and forests in Switzerland for the climatic challenges of the future. The Swiss forest binds around 10 million tonnes of CO2 every year. That is around a quarter of Switzerland's annual CO2 emissions. Old trees absorb much more CO2 and provide a habitat for countless creatures. Their preservation has a major, positive effect on climate change, which is why they should not be felled prematurely. SwissTrees not only supports the preservation of existing trees and forests, but also the planting of new ones. The motto is very clear: plant strong trees, preserve strong trees.

Even if the Swiss forest is growing in principle, its trees are not equipped for climatic challenges. And the forest and all its functions are acutely endangered. And it is now assumed that the forest needs help from outside, one of which is SwissTrees. And perhaps you too?
